Sarah teaches the Lester Horton Technique for all levels from children to professionals, as well as her own eclectic style, a fusion of classical modern techniques that includes essential elements of Horton, Graham-based modern, Cunningham, and other pioneering forms. Her methodology focuses on placement, expansion, articulation, physicality, musicality,  focus, and artistry. 

Sarah also teaches Dance Composition and Improvisation for the fearful and the fearless, adapted for all levels.

A professional Rehearsal Director, and repertory and performance coach, Sarah has also choreographed successful modern dance pieces for auditions and competitions.

Sarah has taught at The Alvin Ailey School, Ballet Hispanico, California State University/Long Beach, California State University/Fullerton, Loyola Marymount University, Cerritos College, Missouri Valley College, Orange County High School of the Arts, and Irvine Valley College, among others.


Walking on the Beat - a workshop in modern dance fundamentals for teachers of children & other beginners. Walking on the Beat provides teachers with a clear and highly accessible introduction to teaching modern dance fundamentals, and a grounding for further study in all styles of modern dance, ballet and jazz. The work is based in the Lester Horton Dance Technique, with elements of other pioneering American modern dance techniques.
